I hear what you are saying and of course I realize there is a difference between murder and drug smuggling and while I agree the death penalty for drug smuggling is harsh that is their law and we can't change it. Unfortunately Indonesia has a terrible drug problem and their view is that if you are a drug smuggler you are in effect killing many people. Whether we agree or not it's just how it is. It's all very well saying that it starts with the people who use drugs but unless you are in the head space of a drug user you can't really judge. There is no simple answer, I wish there was.
