We caught the local bemo back from lunch at a favourite warung along the Lovina strip and since school had just finished it was very full but they managed to squeeze us in with 11 schoolboys who were singing along to Indonesian pop music. There were two sitting on the step with their legs dangling over the side. In front was another similarly overloaded bemo with more schoolboys. Every time one had to stop to disgorge a boy or two the other would shoot ahead to the cheers of the passengers over the top of the pop music. Then we detoured from the main road and what would you know they had a drag race...we won!!!
