asian flu

I have had a friend who went to Phuket and they all got the flu and got quite sick. Has anyone had any problems with the flu in Bali. I have never had a flu shot to go to Bali but now I am questioning whether I should. I had a shot here a few years ago but still got it any way. Thanks for the replies in advance. Going in June :)
