Until recently it's been :- off plane, sprint to VOA payment, through to immigration lines (white card taken and departure half slipped back in passport), on to carousel, grab luggage, hand customs paper to customs guy, Xray bags and with luck on your way.
It seems they have done away with the card.
However, I don't see how seeing your boarding pass is going to do anything for them as the flight is done, and the pass is probably in the plane rubbish anyway.
I can see the sense in them sighting your itinerary however.
This will enable them to check your booked departure date, and ensure 30 day compliance.
Up till now they relied on the white card, and what departure date you entered there.
It won't stop determined overstayers, but at least does away with the white card carry on.
