According to our local warung (very handy, in the front of a house in the next street) and our Bali Banjar where we purchase a few cold beers from; have both said they will stop selling from 15 April.
Our Bali Banjar said we can still buy by the crate, but not single cold beers from their fridge.
The Alfamart, Mini mart and Circle K, 10 mins up the road all said that once the beer they have in the fridge is sold they will not be able to restock their fridges.
This will be hard on the locals as they all sit there on the tables set up at the front (there is even a bottle opener on the wall outside the Circle K), it's the regular drinking spot as we have no bars in our area. Our Balinese friend who has the Minimart has 20 surfers a night drinking at his tables at the front. On Friday and Saturday nights you can always join 50 locals for a beer at the Circle K, not sure where everyone will be drinking now.
So, yes, according the the local businesses, it is true.
