We stayed there for a few days earlier this year and loved the location and spaciousness of the rooms, which would be a very big plus for you. The pool is right in the middle of the villas and very close to them all- just a meter or so path around the edge that is the "gap " between villas and pool. So yes the water is close to the rooms. You also need to walk over big pavers suspended over a pond as you enter. However the villas did all have big solid glass doors. I would say the pool area would be great for you to be in whilst the twins are asleep, it is that close. If your twins are walking and moving quickly everywhere it would be a concern. Otherwise it would be a good spot for you. The villas are nice and big and would give the twins loads of space to crawl and move around in very happily. Good luck deciding. I was also very cautious when mine were little.
