My husband has taken his CPAP machine into Bali a couple of times. Last trip he was asked by customs when exiting Bali exactly what it was for. That particular officer had not seen a CPAP and he seemed concerned about it. We produced our doctor's letter and there was no problem. It was so much easier having the letter.
We have never carried the CPAP in our luggage as my husband's sleep apnoea is quite bad and we would not like to be without it if his luggage went astray.
