Been staying there since 1999, we also stay in the 2 story bungalows on the left as you go in.
The staff are lovely and can be trusted. The rooms were getting a little tired the last time we stayed (October 2013) but we are staying there again in 3 weeks time, so take from that what you want. The pool it really nice and there is a separate shallow part for children. The grounds are really nice, it is really strange how one minute you can be in Poppies in the hustle and bustle and the next in this oasis of peace.
Breakfast leaves a little to be desired compared to some but its ok.
The clubs in Legion st can sometimes be heard late at night if the breeze is in the right direction. You are close to everything though.
We like it enough to overlook some of the little issues, and our kids always loved going there.
