My first trip to Ubud was 1993. My most recent was 2013, with several in between.
Apart from the inevitable symptoms of population "progress" and movie notoriety, very little has changed as regards infrastructure, facilities and services. Monkey Forrest Road is about as unnavigable now as it was 22 years ago.
That's Ubud; like it or lump it.
