Gary D, there is no way AA can collect a departure tax at any Australian airport. Point in case: I just downloaded my boarding pass for my flight from Perth tomorrow,as I am only taking carry on I don't have to go anywhere near the check in counter. I will concede however that when I have to attend the counter in Denpasar airport for document ID check I may well be asked there to pay the departure tax as I bought my ticket some months ago before this regulation was introduced.
