You take your Australian motorcycle driving license with a passport photograph to your local motoring organization - NRMA, RAC etc.
Pay a fee of about $35 and they will give you a International Driving Permit on the spot, which is valid for 12 months.
I have often been stopped by the Polisi in Bali. All they want to see is the International Driving Permit with the round stamp which shows that you have a motorcycle driving license.
