Just a little comment from me, I note someone mentioned with regarding getting a local sim card that not even a local can get one cheaper.....his wife being Indonesian.
Further to my comments on an OP asking speaking Balinese on a post further down.
From what I have experienced, an Indonesian is not a local in the Balinese mind.
We are living on the Bukit at the moment, so I am not referring to in a traditional area. I have heard the term Foreigner, people from Java, the Builders from Flores, but have never heard any Balinese refer to an Indonesian as a local.
My Indonesian friends always comment, oh I pay more because they think I am from China, or the landlord wants to put up my rent by 100% next year as she doesn't like that I am not Balinese. Or the mechanic is trying to rip me off because I am not Balinese. I have never found a Indonesian friend to get anything any cheaper than me.
Ps. Telekomsel Sim cards at the local supermarket are 10,000IDR with 8,000IDR credit and Indosat are for 5,000IDR with 4,000IDR credit so every time I see a post for a local sim I just don't get it.
