The tiles that the Banjar used to pave the footpaths in Jalan Legian were made in Australia.
The footpaths in Jalan Legian also function as a motorcycle and van parking area. I managed to catch a falling motorcycle when it fell off its stand.
Broken and slippery tiles, electrified poles, falling motorcycles and persistent touts make me wish that Jalan Legian would revert to the sandy track I knew in 1975. The track and the beach were the only links between the two small fishing villages of Kuta and Legian.
