Hi Mariasa, 1 week in Bali is considered a quick trip, it is a tourist island so there is most likely going to be tourists wherever you go. As you mentioned seeing the culture it is probably best you organize a driver to take you on a tour to outlining villages, temples (Hindu) and rice terraces. You may also be lucky enough to see a religious ceremony, a dance performance perhaps in Ubud at the Palace, but other tourists will be present and you may consider this touristy, but will show culture and costume. Uluwatu and Tanah Lot are popular temples for tourists and viewing sunsets. Basakhi (the mother temple) less so for tourists and this is where you may see local prayer traditions. A guide may snap you up and explain things for a small fee. A driver for a day tour will cost about 500,000/600,000rp and will be valuable in showing you the must see attractions. The Subak water system across Bali is unique, is world heritage listed and supports the farming and village life, another interesting aspect of their culture. Cheers RR
