In October last year.
We got there about 4:30-5:00. The queue for the gondola thing had about 5 people waiting so we just walked down the steps instead. It was very hot, everyone had umbrellas up defending themselves from the low sun. We were sat in a "cave" area which is on the north side of the big bar you see in all the pictures. This meant we were protected from the sun but had to walk up top to see the sun set on the horizon. There was also virtually no wind so it was pretty warm.
Food and drinks were nice but expensive. Happy hour (2 for 1 cocktails) started at 8 but we were bored and out of there by 7:30.
I enjoyed it but would sit elsewhere next time, even if I do need an umbrella (provided by the bar) for protection, and I'd only go for a special occasion. $9 Bintangs and $20 cocktails add up quickly!
