changed hands the first thing that happened was the bar was removed. The bar used to be a popular place with expats. Tourists would wander past, see a crew of people at the bar and then comment "this place looks popular".
As everyone knows, a small crowd creates a big crowd. The next brilliant move was to raise the price of the beer. This virtually eliminated the expat bar drinking crew. In turn the crowd fell away.
Of course the expat crew were then seen as the "enemy". Tourists can wander through there with only a small bit of hassle but expats now get abused.
