I am from Adelaide and always do it via Canberra embassy. I am not sure if the Sydney Embassy has changed but on our last Visa application for Sept last year we also had to submit our bank statement something new they have brought in. I would double check on that one. They actually rang me to let me know and I thought they were one of those bogus calls and hung up on them and then they rang me back again. Apologies around I gave and explain the situation as we get a lot of strange calls from overseas. But all was good the bank sent a fax off and I had my visa in about 4 days time. Never had a problem with them and we go twice a year and have done for the last 3 years.
