It is a long, long walk for people with mobility problems.

My brother, who can walk quite well but wears a heavy caliper and easily falls when tired, always requests assistance when booking his flights to Bali. We also ask the flight attendants to confirm during the flight that we will be met on arrival (usually the flight attendants actually ask us what assistance we need; we generally fly with Jet Star however I imagine all airlines are the same).

On arrival to Bali we have always been met at the plane with a wheelchair and taken through visa desk, immigration, customs, luggage pick-up etc without waiting in any queues. Then on the outside, we go to the taxi counter, arrange a cab and wait with the airport staff member and wheelchair whilst the taxi comes as close as possible for pick up.

When leaving Bali we have used the buggy service to the departure gates (the taxi drops us off very close to the pick up spot). Inside the airport there is an assistance office (pretty sure it will be very similar in the new airport), we walk in and we ask for a wheelchair again. Usually within 5 mins someone has appeared with the chair and we are taken through all the pre-departure bits with a minimum of fuss. If we are early we ask if we can keep the wheelchair so we can wander around and do some shopping and have always been told yes and the staff member comes back to the departure gate as we are boarding and provides more assistance to get on the plane.
