We used to do Barra in the old days when a trip to ADL from DRW could take ages. Freeze it. Modern twist You can enwrap in plastic bags as suggested. Wrap in muli layers of newspaper. Place it in a coles/woolies cooler insulated bag refold with a freezer ice pack.
Always in checked in luggage. ( we could have in carry on then)
I have taken chook, beef and lamb to Bali this way for a number of years. Still frozen at the other end.
Just remember some products if partially thawed for any reason it must be cooked & consumed & not refrozen.
