To-day's Jakarta Post reports that the vast majority of Kope Luwak, although from wild civets, actually comes from caged civets who are kept in caged, unhealthy conditions as they produce 300kg of the $200 coffee per month.
PETA an anti-cruely to animals society therefore calls for a ban on the product on the grounds of this confinement of the little animals.
