Have just spent the weekend at the Tjamphuan Hotel in Ubud. The town was very busy because of the writers festival, but everyone took the traffic jams with patience. Hotel improves every time i stay there - had a nice renovated room, only 56 steps from reception!
We flew into Bali with Garuda and landed at the new terminal. Although not completely finished, it is nicely air conditioned and lots of space. No holds with VOA or customs and walked left to the new taxi booth and straight on to the new taxi stand. Nice and easy.
Now at the Griya Santrian. The beach is under construction and at present not really usable. So think carefully about staying here and
keep in mind there is building work going on beside the second (middle pool). Exchange rate about 10700 on the street. More in next report.
