Firstly, I do agree with the comments not to buy in Bali. For what you want to do, and if you want good quality files, you do need a DSLR. Consider if you want a crop sensor or a full frame. FF are generally pro or semi pro level, but give less noise, especially in shadows. A macro lens for the tiny stuff is necessary, or if you have plenty of $$ to spend, even a micro lens. You can use natural light + tripod, or buy a dedicaed macro lite. Canon make one that I'll be buying then the budget allows, but it's around $aud1000. For wildlife, you need a long lens. A crop camera will increase the length of the lens.

Do a lot of homework before you buy, to make sure you get exactly what you want. Try to stick to either Nikon or Canon.

On the other hand,if you just want to take files to put on your computer and are not fussed on quality, a point and shoot might work, but be aware of overall lens quality which is generally poor, plus, the tiny sensors can give a noise problem.
