May have been legit. One visit to bali I had a problem. I had never previously notified my bank that I was going away but always paid hotel with my card & a few other items. This time however, I paid for first hotel then when I went to pay the 2nd, payment was rejected.
Luckily I had friends that were able to help me out. When I got home I contacted the bank - they had seen overseas transaction and put a hold on the card. I always let them know now when I am going away.
