What a brilliant evening! Thanks Ranga. and also Bloodyron for the recommendation.
For a start off they pick up from your hotel. Then we got there and such a beautiful vista in front of us. Then the dolphins came out to play. Ok so now we have a vista spread in front of us extending to Lombok and dolphins are playing right in front of us but that's not all folks (no free steak knives because this is Indonesia so it's free steak spoons anyway if there was anything free at all. Oh come to think of it there was, the water is free, bottomless glass).
Then the moon rose making a silver stairway to the sky, look, even I was speechless. The Korean couple on the next table took photos of us juxtapositioned with the stairway and we took photos of them etc etc. You get the picture. Then as the moon rose higher in the sky the stairway turned into river and then a silver lake. Who knows if the dolphins were still there!
Oh, I quite forgot, there was food too! Quality food. The KK had chilled tomato soup, spare ribs with very buttery mashed potato and runner beans, sliced, then a banana split to rival all banans splits and cause them to slither away across the floor in shame at their inadequacy!
I had Mahi-mahi, hold the spuds with sliced beans, got extra because of the whole lack of spud thing. Simple but sooooooo good. If the truth be told I also had two glasses of white wine as it was splurge night, after my pre dinner Bintang. As we paid our bill Ibu Anik materialised to drive us home. What a woman. Cook, manager, driver. Every business should have such a woman. I am reliably informed that her special caramel sauce is a thing of beauty on the tongue.
Such a lovely night.
