Hi we went too, also saw only a few floats as got there about 6 and left at nine, as stupidly did not have dinner first! This is first time we've been here for Nyepi and had been told it would all start just before dark, so headed off for a good possie at 6ish. Got some good pics but didn't see all the floats . A lot of restaurants closed around 8 to let there staff off to travel home for Nyepi, but had a good feed at the Italian at Kumala Pantai. The ogoh's were pretty impressive though, a lot of work went into them, then they get burnt!

Isn't it amazing that the whole island stops for the day. No cars, planes, nothing, it really is a testimony to the beliefs of the Balinese. I like it. Does anyone know of anywhere else that this sort of thing happens?

Enjoying your reports Dutchy.
Cheers
