It's actually quite simple to ride in Bali in the main areas of tuban, kuta and legian etc. Traffic is very slow and the balinese riders are very experienced. They go around you. It's the dumbar$ed tourists who you have to look out for, speeding through thoses streets is common for them... no brains some of them.
Our insurance is fine and we take IDP's with us, and we hire off a pretty well respected hire place.
