We have been swimming with the dolphins twice and have found it an amazing experience both times. From what we have seen the Dolphins are treated very well, to the point where they are 'let out' of their enclosure to the open sea once a week. I would think if they were miss-treated they wouldn't come back! The day starts when you arrive at a compound where you fill out paper-work get your life jacket and can get changed for the for boat rid out to the enclosure. You then are put into a group of about 1/2 doz (there was four of us together last time and we have a dolphin to ourselves!. You then jump onto a boat for the five min trip to the 'enclosure', which reminds me a little bit of Waterworld with Kevin Costner... When you are on the 'island' you are assigned to a dolphin and handler/trainer who will be with you the whole time. You then climb down onto a platform inside the dolphin's 'pen' and get to play with it for around 45 mins. It is truly an unforgettable experience!
We went with balidolphins.com both times we went, there is a heap of info regarding children, etc on their site. Also their email communication is excellent. One suggestion I would make is BOOK EARLY!
