Day 3 - Picked up by driver Made at CPM at 10.15 for transfer to Sanur. Drive a little longer than usual due to heavy rain and traffic.
Half hour wait until Fastboat arrives and still raining. Trip in fastboat was quite rough due to swell but ok. Arrived at Mushroom Bay and met by Dreambeach representative. Hop on the truck for transfer, ride only took 10 mins. Dreambeach Huts, what a place!!!!
I won't go on but it is really lovely, huts are basic but comfortable, private beach and beautiful pool. Was well above my expectations. Checkin was quick and efficient, explored our new surroundings after a drink at the bar/restaurant overlooking the ocean
then decided on a nanna. Something about the sound of crashing waves makes you wanna sleep forever. Got down to bar around 4.30pm, absolutely fanging for a cuppa and was reminded of Happy Hour Yahoo!!!
Had 1 cocktail which led to another then decided to have dinner. I had Mie goreng (lovely) and hubbie had baked tuna (fantastic. Another cocktail then off to bed. For the 2 nights, there were only 5 overnight guests so the entire place was ours to enjoy after the daytrippers left.
Day 4 - After bfast we decide to hire a scooter and explore the island. Was given a map and off we went. Saw beautiful scenery along the way and crossed the bridge to Ceningan. Stopped for drinks at this roaside humpy and talked to local bloke, it was good then pushed onwards. Did fear for my life at one time, got to a crossroad and out jumps this fella pointing up the path, hubbie asks what's up there, he replies, good view so off we went. 5 seconds later he's following us. Oh boy, are we gonna be jumped here by a group of locals hidden in the bushes? Did I tell my kids I loved them before we left home? All these questions going thru my head while still trying to work out what to do, eventually he points to stop and we do. We get off the bike and he leads us up another path toward what we soon discover as a spectacular view of Nusa Penida. The size of the island is amazing!!!! Anyway after alot of fotos with Wayan, our other brother from another mother, we eventually get back on and continue our ride as Sid Snot and Poxy Roxy, woo hoo!!
Late lunch was at Jibaru, very nice and onwards we travel finally getting back about 3pm. Both exhausted we freshened up with a swim in the pool, simply divine and another round of cocktails before dinner with a solo female also staying at DBH.............then bed at last.
ps hubbie had the fish again it was so good!!!
