Greetings everyone, this is my first ever JBR!!! Hope I don't bore you all!!
Day 1- Flight to Bali with J* leaving Perth at 11.45am, good flight, comfortable enough and on schedule. The BEST ever landing. Arrived in Bali at 3.30pm, in and out of terminal within half hour and then off to Champlung Mas for 2 nights. Our driver, Froggy waiting wearing his usual huge smile. We prefer to stay in the old part of the hotel and checked into room 58 near the pool around 5pm. Always clean and welcoming. Good to see all the same staff again. A quick change and drink at the bar then off to dinner, a short walk to Lemongrass on Melasti St. Very nice meal and drinks icy cold. Service was good and costing fair.
Day 2- Leisurely B/fast then off to change some money. Rate was 10,000, WOOHOO!! Ran back to room to get more $$, nearly wiped the guy out, but "no problem". Shopped at Wayan's for pink bintang singlet and continued walking to Poppies for a quick look around
as it sprinkled slightly then as we get to Bagus Bar it gets heavier, so stop in for cider and it buckets down!!! Must stay until rain clears, 2 more ciders later, we're off again only to stop again at the memorial. Out of nowhere a Ninja umbrella man comes across flashing his wares, we buy 2 brollies and off we go. By this time it is now torrential rain so we wade our way to Blueskyz for lunch. Again, the food is good and it was close to full so had to wait a little for our meals, but worth it. Stayed while the rain let up, NOT! and continued on our trek. We decided on foot massages and I wanted to get my narly toenails painted. Went into Saka energy on Melasti and hubbie changes his mind and gets full body massage and I get my foot treatment. Ahh, sheer bliss! Massage was good and hubbie happy. Around an hour later we're off again only to walk around the corner and he now wants foot massage and I get a facial.
Finally we get back to hotel to get ready for my Goddaughter's 21st party, the theme is "Pink" at the Boomerang Bar.
We decide to walk along the beach up to the Jayakarta and cut across. The wind was strong and all the beach sellers were gone. Very eery feeling. The party was a hoot!!!! Suckling Pig and live entertainment plus the Balimoon cocktail Show and an appearance from 2 Ladyboys. What a laugh and they love it!!
Back to hotel around midnight totally exhausted because woman in early 50's shouldn't dance so much with crook knee.......then sleep.
