I have returned from Bali just over 1 week now.

During my stay I contacted Dengue and on the 7th day of my holiday the signs showed up .Cold shivers hot sweats headaches and general tiredness with no interest in eating .

The Doctor was called around the 4th day after some discussion with hotel staff as this was when I thought the worst of it was over and I would be on the mend but apparently this is when things can get serious so after blood checks to confirm Dengue the Doctors returned daily for further blood samples to check for the blood count .

If your blood count drops below 100 your will be hospitalised as there are risks to your vital organs.

Mine were (204)first check (180) second and (170) third so I was allowed to fligh home I have seen my own Doctor with further blood checks and am still recovering this is into the third week now he suspects it will be a slow process.

The Dengue Mosqito usually bites durind the day so take precautions for when you land and travel to your hotel and when you shop.

Dengue is rampant at this time of the year (Wet Season) and the hotel Dr. suggested as much as 70% of people in Bali have had it (cannot confirm this)but all the staff I spoke to were telling me that they had had it once twice and some even three times so take care.
