We also stayed at the Dynasty on a few occasions when our children were younger. They are teens now so we find the Legian area suits them better.

Of the two places you mention, the Melasti Beach caters for younger children more than does the Puri Raja.

The Melasti has a small grassed play area right next to the breakfast restaurant with a little bit of equipment so this is nice if you have little ones. It also has a tennis court and table tennis available. (I think the tennis court has undergone refurbishment).

We stayed in a cottage suite at the Melast which is effectively two rooms separated by a partition to the roof with two single beds in the front area and a king bed in the other room. This room also had a couple of chairs to sit on. There were two showers in the bathroom and a television in the main room. There are also interconnecting rooms in this resort and I think they are classified as delux rooms.

The Puri Raja is a much smaller resort and has very few interconnecting rooms, if this is a requirement. I think there may be as few as four. I stayed there last month and noticed they had a small size pool table and there could have been table tennis though I can't be sure if I'm remembering correctly.

Your choice between these two places would probably depend upon the ages of your children and if interconnecting rooms were a priority as well as the grassed area.

Hope this helps you on your way.
