Continuing on :)

Day 7.
Had 20k left on me and could not be bothered changing money so I head down poppies 1 in search of a cheap dinner. Found bamboo corner which I had read about on TA.
Ordered a Mie Goreng and a Lemon Squash for exactly 20k. No complaints, tasty dish and a great squash. No aircon though or lights. Place was packed. Two tourists eating outside started feeding one of the kittens lurking around, they thought this was great until 5 other cats start circling which they also feed. A black dog then comes up and they yell and it to go away. Very smart people these were -_-

Day 9.
Change money in poppies 1 at the first money changer. Rate 9900. Have used this place before, looks a little dodgy but I wanted to try anyway. She counted it out to me in hundreds and fifties, and counted out 990,000. However I only counted 940,000. So I recounted and she tried to count with me saying yes, 990,000. Good try :)
Got my 990,000. No problems.

Exciting day as I knew my boots and clutch would be ready from Ani's Tailor just before Jl. Padma in legian. Boots are great, leather is gorgeous and lined with suede inside. Clutch also lovely, he added an extra pocket inside, thoughtful.
For the clutch and the boots I paid 1,005,000 (105 AUD) Very happy!
Walk over to Mozzarella, craving portabella mushrooms! Arrive and greeted by Agoes, who remembered my name and he had a sad look on his face. Before I even ordered, 'Sorry Anna no portabella mushrooms today'. Noooo!
He offered to have them make a similar plate of mushrooms which I had with a Thai Beef Salad, + a lemon squash. Bill was 115k. Delicious as usual.

Back to the hotel for a sleep in the pool on my blow up swim ring. Best thing I packed for bali! Loving the weather at the moment, my skin not so much. Massage at Dony Spa, 50k for an hour. The girls here are lovely and I gave them a bag of clothes and shoes from home. They were very excited and loved the Havaianas! Get some ray bans, 20k each. Two years ago I bought 20 pairs of ray bans, last year I did not need to buy any in Bali and for this trip I was down to my last pair. Thought I was quite restrained only buying 2 pairs for myself!

Craving a cheese platter or the like for dinner so I get onto TA and start hunting. Good comments on one at Potato Head and also Cocoon. Taxi up to Cocoon and am greeted by extremely friendly staff. In time for the gorgeous sunset also. Cheese platter was nice. 4 cheeses, water crackers, grapes, a chutney and olive bread. Hit the spot. (223k incl. tax). Menu looks quite nice, a bit pricier for Bali, but still reasonable when compared to AUS. Walk back along the beach from Cocoon to Kuta. Beautiful weather and a relaxing walk.
Quick swim at the hotel pool before bedtime. Last night at Satriya Cottages. Really happy with my stay. Great staff, excellent location, lovely pool and bar and above all, reasonable prices for food and drink.

Day 9.
Nice, standard breaky at the hotel and then up to McCafe for a coffee. Beautiful coffee art, can't understand why the McCafe coffee here is lovely, yet in melbourne it is not. Enjoying my last swim here at Satriya then check out time.
Am now about to head off to Kuta Seaview, 2 minute walk from here. Mum and dad were scheduled to be landing now (12.05pm) but apparently their flight was delayed over 1hr due to a flat tyre on te runway! I can't imagine sitting on the horrible virgin planes for more than 6 hours. Very, very excited to see them and begin the last leg of my holiday.

Have booked my birthday dinner at Sarong. Looked at the Mama San menu and although it looks beautiful I think we might prefer the options at Sarong, which is Mama San's sister and also has excellent reviews. Cooking class at Bamboo Shoots on Tuesday and the seafood buffet booked at The Deck on Tuesday evening. Other than that, no plans for the rest of the trip!

:) x
