Generally the first thing you think of is to get to hospital. True they want cash up front and swipe the Credit card, pending approval from the insurance co. BIMC rang 1cover for us and quoted the policy number and with-in 10 minutes they told us "all approved do not worry. we have to ring insurance daily and let them know"
Accident on a late afternoon. and all approved with-in hours. The longest time was for us to get a taxi back to the hotel, get the policy from the room safe and return to BIMC.
I believe a lot depends on if the insurance Co office is open for the speed of approval.
