I had the KP pool to myself, not a soul in sight except for those on the pool lounges... a bit reminiscent of the movie 'Cocoon'
Not a rug rat in sight so I walked straight out of Y Block, grabbed 4 pool noodles to help me keep a float and just bobbed around for 30 minutes or so.
Suddenly I heard this horrible little laughing sound, I turned around and sure enough there was a little black haired 6 year old boy about 40 meters way frolicking in the shallows near 'A'block.
Now I am a great fan of the American Hillbilly 'Turtle Man' and straight away I knew this pond wasn't big enough for me and the 'little critter', so I hatched a plan borrowed from a Turtle Man episode to slowly breaststroke up to the 'little critter' with only my eyes showing above the water and when close enough duck dive down, grab the "little critter" by the legs, drag him under with a Alligator roll, stand up hanging him upside down by the legs and throw him on the bank.
I was close to activating my plan when I noticed a large shadow moving out of the corner of my eye...I looked up and there was a gigantic clone of the 'little critter' at the side of the pool.
Instinctively I went on the defensive and surveyed the situation.
Both myself and the gigantic clone shared a few similarities, both were around 115kg, the clones shoulders, and my girth are both about a meter wide. The clone had very long hair and more tatts than I (6), whereas the clone had another extra 5, a tear drop under each eye, a spiders web on both elbows and a death skull and cross bones on the chest.
The gigantic clone also had a distinct height and age advantage( 6'4' and 35 years V's 5'8' and 63 years).
I was weighing up if experience might be able to carry me through the day but I soon realised that if this was only the FEMALE clone how big was the male clone going to be?...(it turned out she was a kindergarten teacher from WA on sick leave:)
It was then I decided that this pond was indeed too small for the both us so I complimented the lady on her lovely son, got out of the pool and took off to Sanur to catch up with Mr Blooldyron and co.
Arrived at Sanur to a tumultuous welcome from Ron and gang and proceeded to sit under the tree on knowledge and enjoy Rons, Eddy, James, Dazza and Gators hospitality.
Now I must admit I was a bit concerned about Gator...anyone one with long hair tied up in a ponytail and continually winking at you has to be of a concern ...but it turned out he is just too lazy to get a haircut and his winking eye was just a repercussion of a minor medical ailment...such a relief and an enjoyable afternoon:)
Apart from the odd Bintang we enjoyed there is no doubt that Irma makes the best spring rolls in Bali, bar none! If the spring rolls are any indication of the cooking classes she runs then the classes should be highly recommended.
Ron and the boys started yawning around 3:15pm and we knew that they all usually nod off before sunset still sitting around the Big Red Esky so we bid them fond farewell until next time.
Back to the KP to pack for The Masa Inn in the morning.
It was great to go back to the KP again and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there...bouquets to the Tekor restaurant and their draft Bintang .. .brickbats to the KP Italian Restaurant, apart from breakfast the restaurant really has run its race.
Also good to catch up with Doug, Bev and Anne from BTF.
Arrived at the Masa Inn Poppies1 the next day and although the welcome crowd was not as big as we had received in Sanur he gave us a very enthusiastic welcome.
Cheers Hoolz
