All good things must .... well that's how the saying goes, very apt for the feeling this morning, our last one at The Chedi

We both had a cooling swim , already very hot at 8 am, such is the outstanding service we have experienced, although officially the pool attendant doesnt start till 9, someone must have seen us and he appears from no where, ever smiling , providing us with our poolside necessities. He already knows its our last morning, how we have no idea and thanks us for staying at , his words, our hotel.

that was said to us many times this morning. The pride these men and women have for this hotel is truly praiseworthy.

A fabulous breakfast where we were offered a special dish from the kitchen as it was our departure day, eggs benedict with smoked salmon, delicious.

Back to the suite for the dreary packing up process and to reception for the bill settling where we were presented with a parting gift, a calico bag with vacume packed rice, grown on the property , with a recipe for nasi goreng . Such a thoughtful touch.

Komang arrives in the buggy to collect us and our baggage and drives us the the driver, we say our goodbyes and off we head down that long winding driveway, I look behind and Komang is waving until we can see him no more. Goodbye Chedi and thankyou.

Our next port of call was always going to be a hard act to follow, on the advice from Happy Noodle Boy we check in at Cendana Hotel on Monkey Forest rd , great position in the heart of the action.

our room is spacious, two double beds with mosquito drapery, clean albeit a bit of a musty strange smell.we are metres from a nice enough pool and we are overall happily surprised, at $85 a night with breakfast , its a bit of a bargain I think.

The day passes quickly with some pool time, shopping in central Ubud, daughter has a massage and ear candling ?????

We eat next door at Lamak, very impressed, 2 non alcoholic drinks a chicken mango dish and a pork sparerib meal, beautifully presented , followed by 2 excellent ginger orange cream brulees. Bill $43. The setting here is quite stylish, great atmosphere with some non Balinese backround music. We liked it a lot.

Early night tonight as we leave beautiful Ubud in the morning heading for Seminyak.
