My birthday today, ( one of the more ghastly ones as far as I'm concerned) but a lovely morning kiss and hug and a Skype from my husband sets the day off to a good start.
Daughter off to yoga while I do the customary few laps in this heavenly pool, again solo, many people here have private pools so until the afternoon , this pool is very unused .
After another great breakfast we return to our room to find a large black box waiting. It's our laundry from yesterday, had forgotten all about it. Yet another advantage of staying here, each guest can have 5 pieces of laundry done daily throughout their stay. So glad my husband wasn't here to notice , I throw his jocks and socks in his drawer with no care, here we lifted our beautifully washed and folded pieces out amazed, these guys must have gone to The David Jones school of how to fold garment merchandise, very impressive :)
Driver booked to take us to Teggalalang to see the beautiful rice terraces, a great sight, lots of memory pictures , stopped off on way back to some of the many homeware shops , trying to curb spending but couldn't resist a tablecloth and cushion covers. For an avid home decorator this is tough not indulging more but this holiday have decided to spend more on accom and less on shopping. Will see how this plan pans out :)
Back for a poolside afternoon , ordering what is definitely the best ever club sandwhich ever , pool side , ahhhhh the serenity we say , chuckling on that classic movie memory.
Driver booked at 4 to take us to Milano Hair Spa for our cream hair baths and blow drys , added bonus was the neck and shoulder massage added in . Total $26 , seems a familiar sum this $20 something charges, not complaining :)
Back in time for cocktail hour, tried the Whisky sour and daughter a berry bliss
Dinner tonight for my birthday we decided on the Chedi Sunday night BBQ , set in a candlelit rice field , truly magical , sorry can't describe it any other way. Menu was Babi Guling suckling pig, lamb cutlets , sqiid , fantastic charred vegetable kebabs ,vegetables , salads , baked potatoes with various sauce toppings. Dessert we chose prune Armagnac tart, all served in the exceptional Chedi way we have come to marvel at. Nothing is too much trouble and we feel so privileged to have experienced this.
Will be hard to top this Birthday.
