I think the only effective way to deal with this problem is for Indo Gov to have another look at the import tax on foreign spirits. It will be a hit to the revenue, but so too would be a drop off in visitor numbers due to unsafe bar practices.
They need to create a situation whereby there is little economic advantage to use the meth substitute or dilution.
I don't think that local drinks like Bali Moon would suffer that greatly due to the "When in Rome" tourist attitude towards cuisine and drinks.
Time to bite the bullet on this one I think. You can't make no changes and expect different results. It is not a problem the Police is going to sort out - is it now?
