We too were invited to a Hindu wedding. I bought a couple of lovely Kabaya with sarong. On the day I wore the very plain simple one. I was so pleased I did. Although our friends that were married, wore very traditional wedding clothes that they had hired, their family, who a very poor wore, wore clothes that were not new. My husband wore a sarong and a traditional head scalf (that we got a friend to buy, so we got the right one). They loved that we made the effort. We also took a lace fabric horeshoe and other charms to hang on the brides arm, and confetti, and after all their traditional ceremonies were over we told the we would have a small 'Aussie' ceremony. We also took lots of the little bottle of bubbles to give to all the children. Our friends and family loved it and still talk about the 'Aussie ceremony'.
