At some hotels food is somewhat limited, that is, if a hotel has a number of restaurants, not all will be open. I have been in Bali a number of times for Nyepi and the hotels I stayed at had fixed price meals at both lunch and dinner, that is, special buffets. usually a great choice of food, but more expensive than usual, so snacks etc are a good idea. Lighting is kept to a minimum so a torch is a good idea. I nearly stepped into the fish pond at one hotel. Shops around Kuta can be closed for up to 3 days after Nyepi as nearly everyone goes home to their villages. You will see offerings tied to the door of these shops.
