Left Sydney on Sunday ... Well almost didn't leave - over the past few years we have always used a shuttle bus to get to the airport but this year we decided to hire a car and drive...big mistake... Not knowing the airport very well and full of excitement we didn't read the signs did we! Hubby drops me and the luggage off and then drives off to return the hire car....I was inside and something didn't seem right, ended up I was at the domestic departures and not international! Then I realized that hubby would think I'm at international and wouldn't be able to find me, so trying not to panic I decided to scream out to a taxi only to be told that no I have to go down stairs or on a bus or train to international .... How the hell am I going to do this alone with 2 suitcases, 3 surfboards, one kite (hubby a kitesurfer) which was carry on and my own carry on case? I ran up to one of the security guys (he probably thought I was a mad woman) and without tears (very proud of myself for this achievement) explained my situation! He rang his supervisor who gave him permission to get me a taxi ...to say I was relieved was an understatement......ok u maybe wondering why I just didn't ring hubby on his phone...yep it was in my handbag and thanks to our mobile phones I was pretty sure he wouldn't remember my number.
Anyway I get in taxi and take all our gear over to international departures and the first person I see is hubby outside looking for me....sheer relief! Still didn't cry :) had a good laugh at each other though, luckily we had left early and given ourselves plenty of time!
Lined up and then paid our visa - now I read on here that they will take US$ or Aussie dollar but no they DO NOT take US dollars, you have to pay in aussie dollars and have the correct amount as no change will be given - cost $24 each.
Flight with Garuda was excellent as always and the immigration on board is fantastic, straight through to get luggage and out to the "whole kids n all Balinese family" ...yep I had tears of joy! Our babies had grown up so much in a year...just adorable!
Over the past couple of days I've been doing some shopping for our grandkids .... Love indigo kids:) spent some time at the pool, we are at the losari only for 3 nights, love this hotel as it's very cheap very clean and close to everything, and caught up with some 'family'.
We are off to balian tomorrow for a week, which I'm really looking forward to! Desperately need some R&R after some sad news with a girlfriend and our hectic lives back home. Then it's Sanur for 3 weeks:)))
The rate is unreal...9825 yesterday :) weather is perfect...too hot to spend hours at the pool but there is a breeze which is nice.
Will do more in a couple of days
