Yes I do read thiings before I post. Did you read the initial post Sherbert? So you don't have to jump between posts I have cut and pasted it for you!! As this maybe hard for you to jump between posts?
Hi - wondering if someone can clear something up please - is the 6 month period required from date of entry into Indonesia or is it 6 months from date you return to Australia? Thanks in advance for your help.

"Australian passports are valid for travel into and out of Australia regardless of the length of remaining validity. An Australian passport remains valid until the expiry date.
Which I think, answers the initial post question, or at least the question of entry into Australia.
Or this part ???
Some countries require travellers to have at least six months validity remaining on their passports beyond the period of intended stay, and immigration authorities may refuse entry if you arrive with less than this.
Or maybe this part???
Airlines and passenger shipping lines may refuse to carry you if your passport has inadequate validity.

And this part answers the initial post question "again which I did read" with regard to the question of entry into Indonesia!
Before travel you should contact the Embassy, High Commission or Consular representative of all the countries you will be travelling to, or seek advice from your travel agent (or the airline you are traveling with, if you have booked online), to identify each country's passport validity requirements. If you are unsure, it is safest to renew your passport prior to travelling.
If all of the above has not cleared up the "initial post question" Sherbert! Which I did read, then there is no helping anyone!!!!!
