We were there in 2010 at the time of the Karnival and it was fine. My husband went off for the day to golf and I went to the Karnival by myself and not once felt any need for concern. The bands on the beach were great and the atmosphere was fantastic with lots of things to see. The street parade was truly amazing to watch.
