You could go up to Senaru and visit the waterfalls there. Good views of Rinjani if it is clear.
You could head down to Kuta (nothing like Kuta Bali) and visit some of the beautiful beaches here. The road west of Kuta is pretty bad at the moment but heading east you have Tanjung Aan, Seger and Sernting. There is a warung at the far western end of tanjung Aan which is my favourite current place to while away an hour or two at the beach. Warung turtle. Quiet, white sand and turquoise waters. We ahve a guest with us at the moent who is spending every day there. Says it is the best beach he has seen in indonesia. You can also do a walk up the hill beside the warung for some great views of the area.
