and even though the Indonesian Govt is a shareholder Garuda Indonesia, as a publicly listed company, is responsible for creating profit for all its shareholders. A return ticket is a debt for the airline until it is used so the longer the time before the outbound and inbound flights the longer the airline carries that debt.
Also, you might not realise but, the longer people holiday the less per day they spend so a holiday longer than 14 days does not necessarily translate into a greater holiday spend.
