Villa may not have been terrific but you must admit that the location around JL Padma, Garlic Lane is so convenient and accessible to many choices of shops, eating places, and drop off points for the "boys"

I agree with so many of your comments. I found Tommy's had quite lukewarm feel to it, but love giving my business to the smaller places like the leather shop opposite Swish. Was also enticed to go to Pips Pampurring but it was so busy that I felt like a was a "battery hen" Have to admit though that their decor and set up was so clean and professional. My main massage pleasure is a daily one hour foot massage at Kenko Reflexology on Jl Padma opposite Mozzarella, otherwise I enjoy scrubs and manicure/pedis at Angelina's Spa on Jl Legian next to Legian Paradiso.

There is a most unusual Villa at the Suriwathi Hotel where I stay on Garlic Lane...Entrance is opposite Swish so location is perfect. Not the luxurious vision of the "Villa" that people imagine but would be so ideal for a family. Basic, but very spacious. Two side by side with the one pool at the door. Very large family area/Stainless steel kitchen, and two large bedrooms each with their own bathroom. Have been staying at Suriwathi so many times and only just discovered that they had this little treasure. Remember, it is not ultra ritzy, but would provide a very comfortable place in an ideal location.

Thank you again for the "warts" and all reports on family interaction....yes, we can still sometimes get a bit grumpy in Bali, but it is shortlived.
