Day 7
I'm going to keep day 7 simple as it was a day of rest, some odd jobs and pick ups but enjoyable just the same as we enjoyed a few hours with buggalugs. He was firing on all four cylinders today. Cracking the funnies, teaching us lingo and parting with some local knowledge. He's just such a character and each trip on our travels we come up with funny sayings and carry ons that we remember and chortle about for days. Like changing the words to John Denver almost heaven to suit places we'd been to in Bali. Keeps you young and silly!
You know it's been one of those trips that works so well. Nothing goes wrong, you get into the zone and you live, love and appreciate every minute. I'm talking food for the soul. Re charge so you can continue to give and be the very best partner, mother, daughter, sister, friend and colleague.
So some notes to self.
It bothered me that I didn't take my Coles recycle bags. I'm never going to make that mistake again and I regret that. I thought a lot about poverty, the simple things in life and myself as a consumer. I saw some things that I didn't like and I witnessed people who were rude that made me sad. I'm not going to lecture anyone or take away from the fun we all go to Bali for (as I've just been right in the thick of it for 8 days) but as a lover of bali, its people and culture which i seek to embrace and learn more about each time i visit we must remember - we are guests. Treat as you'd like to be treated, be as generous as you can afford. Yeah - there are some that say all of this is crap that ive spent time recounting and is not the real Bali. I accept that and yes you are right to some extent but we are now more so part of a booming consuming tourist market. It's not going away.
I loved my holiday and thanks for reading all my waffle.
Ps
-packing had knobs on it. ( served you right according to BFF - she feels my pain).
-getting up at five am was awful for the flight after Saturday night fever at the Haven of which I was not part of but felt like was in my bed!
-Prada lounge although very grotty, tired and dreadful food was a blessing for the flight was delayed by 2 hours so it meant some wee fee to catch up on work emails (oh no)!
- last funny , hot seats Air Asia rows 1 to 6 ROCK! Hot seats for hot mummas.
Pps
I'm going to be bawling my guts out in the toilets at work tomorrow. Xxxxxx
