Have been here for 7 days so far, 2 more to go. 3 nights at Adhi Jaya in South Kuta/Tuban; the rest of the time at the Respati Hotel,Sanur. Adhi Jaya small, but great value and excellent position across the road from Discovery. Rooms clean and well appointed with tea & coffee making facilities and a great buffet breakfast included. Staff very friendly. Pool area good. Wifi available in rooms, but need to pay per hour block - not too expensive. 30,000 rp for 2 hours valid for one week. In room safe.
Respati Hotel excellent position also - choice of restaurants at beach end or road end. Laundry and money changer across the road at the road end. Circle K about 60 metres up on the beach end. Unfortunately no tea or coffee making facilities, but you can request a kettle from housekeeping and cups from the restaurant. Bring your own tea/coffee, etc. Buffet breakfast adequate, but no cereal. Staff lovely. Deluxe Rooms good size, in room safe. Very small verandah. Free Wifi in beach side restaurant. Sonme renovations happening but doesn't disturb. Not many Aussies here.
Have been eating mostly at Mona Lisa's on main road. Also been to Cinnamon; Lila Warung; Rosettas; Beach Cafe. No bad meals at all.
Quite a bit of rain during the night until about 9am this morning. Quite overcast for rest of day.
A challenge to conquer the persistent market ladies from either direction along the beach pathway. Business for them is very slow these days.
