I have been to Bali several time, 1st time was back in 2000 when i stayed at the segara village in sanur, i like it back then, 2nd time in Oct 2002 i stayed at the Grand Bali Beach, yes it was old then also :-), but i like it too, unfortuneatly we all know what happened whilst i was there. I decided after that to leave bali for a few years, ended up being 8 years infact and returned staying at Nusa Dua, i like the hotel but i could have been anywhere, this was not the bali i remembered, but due to ramadan being on whilst i was there getting anywhere was near impossible with all the traffic.
But....we did go out to the Safari Park one day and i asked the driver to take us to a restaurant in Ubud for lunch, and this is the point of my post, where did he take us, let me tell you what i rememeber, It was a rather large place, he parked the car alongside other drivers, so the carpark was reasonably big, we went in and straight upstairs and we lucky enough to be seated overlooking the rice fields, the whole place seemed to be made of wood as i remember the bamboo type wooden fence, the food was good, not spectacular but nothing to complain about either, but the views where great.
The reason i ask is because i am going back to Bali with my parents and girlfriend in Novemeber(Sanur again), my parents have never been anywhere that side of the world (we live in Scotland), i have always tavelled to Asia on holiday and they always loved seeing all the pictures when i came back, and now that they have both retired, i decided to take them and see for themselves(starting in Thailand), so i want to fill the days doing things they aint ever seen before, so any help with that restaurant or any other recomendations would be fantastic.
