Day 4
Now you know at home, laundry is my worst job. I've got a front loader that takes two hours, then there's the middle bit then there are the leaning piles of pisa that hang around for days begging to be put away. Well, Do laundry on Jl Buni Sarii 23c is unbelievable. So cheap. Want the "Bali smell" go with the angel spray. We dropped two loads off each and paid under 20 k each time. Seems wrong but that's how it is but you can show your appreciation and tip which we did each time. Bless them.
As we'd had a rest day it was back to the grind with our shopping. I'm going to try not to bore you but this shopping thing just gets us so excited! We plan our circuit before hand. BFF is a walking GPS so she remembers which way the traffic goes and which order to do what shops . Amazing. I'm directionally challenged if you get that and cant find my way out the hotel till the last day so having BFF is great.
We do have our favorites though and they include.... Popos for linen, crazy Donny's for bean bag chairs on Rum Jungle and Dianna Tara for silver on Double Six. I had bean bags made for a new deck that is awaiting completion at home. But they do weigh. 7kgs for three. I have heard you can fill them successfully with foam off cuts as Donny did say you need 5big bags of beans per chair. Worth it if u are trying to create that "look".
Now everyone knows about Tommy's. We've graduated from the 150-200rp bags from the first ten trips to this beautiful leather crafted so skillfully. I'm not going to tell you how many between us there were but lets just say we've got sisters and girlfriends and it's the sisterhood club ok! We also went to Tommy's cafe this time and had a steak sanger which was lovely. Ice coffee to die for and a good place to rest up and plan the next leg of the journey.
We always go to Ketuts in garlic lane. This day was frantic as she was closed for a few days and everyone seemed to be foaming at the mouth. it's not hard to drop a mill in this joint as everything is so easy. This we did and off to the car park opposite uncle norms where our buggalugs always waits. He has a sleep and something to eat and catches up with friends. This is so convenient and we really do appreciate being able to dump the bags in the boot and keep going.
We headed back to Pipps to get some much needed relief. We just keep glancing over at each other glassy eyed and dribbling as the hands of "Jack" work magic on my feet. Suffering with jalan jalan legs this is wonderful. BFF nods off and wakes herself up with a little snort which was funny.
Ok enough of a rest, wipe up the dribble and get walking again. this time we walked Jl Pantai. Great for shoes and of course dr beats ear phones. We paid 80 for the mid size ones but u can get them for fifty (pipty). Had a offer for that and a bit more along this street. It's a funny street. Haven't been called skinny for a long time but I took it as a compliment. Around the next corner a funky sort of dude said he loved me to which I replied "more than your mother?". The whole congregation was in fits. It was another cracker moment.
After a freshen up we headed to Pearl but it was shut. We had a complete change in appetite and drove up to Enys warung. Now we've been coming here four or five years. We always have the same of lemon grass chicken, satay, squid, water spinach and gado gado. Sounds like a lot but it's so fresh and light and not filling. The story I will tell you now is amazing. It was more than twelve months ago we were at Enys and another girlfriend we were with left her sunnies (expensive real ones) here. She had no idea where she lost them and was upset. Well Eny came to the table with her sunnies and said "last time you here you left". Wow!!!
The driver who had brought us here offered to pick us back up and true to his word and on the dot he arrived. Good job we'd packed the left overs in a doggy bag for him which he put in the boot and said later.. Funny sort of chap.
What a great day. More to come. For now salamat malam. Zzzzzzzzzz
