We stayed in a Villa at Kumpul Kumpul 2 in Legian last year. It is down a lane off Jalan Legian behind the Kusnadi Hotel. It is definitely not 5 star but still good value for money. There are a few villas around the pool and then more villas down a lane. We stayed in a 2 bedroom down the lane with our 2 kids aged 6 and 4. Downside is there are lots of motorbikes using the lane which you have to walk down to get anywhere and the seat in the lounge / TV area is concrete with some cushions on it. There is a small kitchen with enough gear to cook and eat with. Upside is both bedrooms have aircon (kitchen & lounge have fans) and the bathroom was huge. We purchased our self an extra fan for the kitchen and borrowed a DVD player for the kids. Short walk to Bintang supermarket, Beach and restaurants. There is also Kumpul 1 & 3 but I did not check them out.
